everyday vinaigrette

this simple vinaigrette is more tart than many. use 2/3 cup of oil for a more traditional blend.
[preparation time: 2 minutes]
yield: makes 1 cup

1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup red vine vinegar
1 garlic clove, minced or pressed
1/4 tsp dried basil

vigorously mix all ingredients together until blended. adjust any of the ingredients to taste. drizzle on salad and serve.
