While not a perfect film, this is an almost perfect filmgoing experience. Never as emotionally or intellectually deep as the subject would be in other hands, Inception moves beyond the shallows just far enough to be satisfying anyway. Elements of the Matrix, spy films, and William Gibson wrapped in an action package ensure that what is onscreen at every moment is just about as entertaining as it possibly can be. Big smart fun.
