Bringing Home Baby Money Myths

» Thrifty Infants: Money myths about affording a new baby. Um, washing diapers is "gross"? Honestly, if you can't handle a dirty diaper, you're simply not equipped for parenthood. There's plenty of grossitude ahead.

The best tip for baby $$$ I can give is to utilize Craigslist or neighbors to find used baby clothes, shoes, and gear. We paid maybe 15% of new and got things in great condition. It drastically cut our expenses. Plus we met a lot of nice people.

Washing diapers would seriously have at least doubled the overall grossness factor for our baby adventures. Disposables are great because you can wipe things up, wrap it all up tidily in the dirty diaper, and it's done. Washing the fouled diapers (and wipes)? Ugh. I know it's a good thing, but still ugh. Really.
