I very much agree, and believe me, there's no stopping to it. The rates will continue to grow as time comes. I believe it has already become a social norm rather than a taboo. Worst is, virginity is considered primitive. You are uncool if you haven't done "it" yet.
The statistic is rather amazing to me. I come from a country (India) where pre-marital sex is socially unacceptable for cultural and religious reasons. Ten years ago, I would have placed a similar statistic at less than 10%.
Nowadays, I read that things are changing there too. So I am sure that statistic like the one in the United States is also increasing.
